When you're looking for a midsize truck for combining work and play, the 2019 Chevrolet Colorado has everything you need. Here are some of the Colorado's features that make it the ideal choice whether you're hauling hardware, towing your boat, or heading out on a camping trip. Exterior Features
The Colorado is a great looking truck with bold styling that gives it a dominant road presence. You can choose from the extended cab with a long bed or the crew cab with a short or long bed. It's offered in Base, WT, LT, Z71, and ZR2 trim levels.
Base trim features daytime running lights, 16-inch steel wheels, bed lighting, and a rear bumper with integrated corner steps. The LT adds 17-inch alloy wheels, color-keyed door handles and power door mirrors, and a remote locking EZ-Lift and Lower tailgate. Z71 models have projector beam headlights, fog lamps, and heated mirrors, while the ZR2 features unique styling and a spray-on bed liner.
Engine Choices
Your engine and transmission options depend on the trim level, configuration, and drivetrain. The lineup starts with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque through a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.
Next is a 3.6-liter V-6 that delivers 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Available for WT trim and up is a 2.8-liter turbo-diesel delivering 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque through a six-speed automatic transmission.Capability
The four-cylinder gas engine gives you payload of up to 1,440 pounds and a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds. With the V-6, the maximum payload is 1,574 pounds and you can tow up to 7,000 pounds. Opting for the turbo-diesel gets you a payload of up to 1,496 pounds and a towing capacity up to 7,700 pounds.
When your adventures take you off the beaten track, the available all-wheel drive will take you to most places. For handling rougher trails, the Z71 has all-terrain tires, a locking rear differential, off-road suspension, and hill descent control. If the going gets really tough, take a look at the ZR2. It features higher ground clearance, bigger off-road tires, electronic locking front and rear differentials, raised suspension with special dampers, fender flares, and unique off-road bodywork.
Interior Design
Inside the stylish cabin, the work-oriented Base trim has practical and durable vinyl seating, front bucket seats, power driver's seat, and a 3.5-inch multi-information display. The infotainment system features a 7-inch touch-screen, smartphone integration, Bluetooth, voice command, six-speaker audio, and two USB ports.
The WT adds cloth upholstery, while LT trim offers cruise control, a 4.2-inch color multi-information display, a leather-bound tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, an 8-inch touch-screen, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and HD and satellite radio. Z71 models feature simulated leather-trimmed seats, heated front seats, a power passenger seat, climate control, heated steering wheel, and wireless charging. Many other features are available with the optional packages.
