Whether you live in the Tulsa, Oklahoma, area, or are just visiting, if you enjoy playing golf, you’re in luck. The area features several excellent golf courses where you can enjoy your favorite pastime. Whether you’re a beginner or you’ve been playing for years, you’re sure to find a golf course in Tulsa that’s right for you. Here are the top three places to play golf in the area.

  1. LaFortune Park Golf Course

LaFortune Park Golf Course has been a favorite destination of Tulsa golfers since 1960. Recently renovated by local golf course architect Randy Heckenkemper, LaFortune Park offers players an 18-hole Championship layout, an 18-hole par-3 course with lighting, and a lighted driving range. While the course is beginner-friendly, it also provides plenty of challenges for experienced golfers. The fairways, water hazards, and sand traps allow you to test your accuracy and improve your game. Another highlight of the course is the beautiful Bermuda grass greens.

LaFortune Park offers instruction for all skill levels and hosts several leagues, including junior and senior leagues. The Golf Shop at LaFortune Park carries all of your favorite brands and features the largest selection of golf shoes in the area. Before your round, stop by the LaFortune Park grill for breakfast, or afterward for lunch.

  1. Bailey Ranch Golf Club

Bailey Ranch Golf Club was designed by renowned golf course architect Bland Pittman, a designer who believes that golf should be challenging but fun. The course’s link style layout winds its way through a stunning landscape featuring lakes, trees, and native grassland. Each hole includes at least four tee boxes, allowing beginners to ease their way into the game and more experienced golfers to really challenge themselves. Players are provided with daily pin sheets and can take advantage of features like tee signs and fairway plates.

In addition to the main course, Bailey Ranch is equipped with a chipping area, putting green, and driving range. A knowledgeable and friendly PGA staff is on hand for instruction. Inside the pro shop, you’ll find all the equipment and apparel you need for the perfect game. After your round, grab a burger, hot dog, or a sandwich at the Bailey Grille.

  1. Cedar Ridge Country Club

In 1967, famed golf course architect Joe Finger was commissioned by a group of Tulsa businessmen to create a new golf course that would later be considered one of the finest in the country. Finger himself said it was the best course he ever designed. Today, that course, Cedar Ridge Country Club, still draws golfers from all over the country.

While some players have described the course as demanding, Cedar Ridge provides a fun experience for players of all levels. The 18-hole, 71-par course features greens placed strategically among mature trees and around Little Haikey Creek. Practice facilities include a chipping area, putting greens, a wedge area, and several driving ranges. There’s even an indoor practice area, which allows you to hone your skills regardless of the weather.

These are just a few of the fantastic golf courses in the Tulsa area. No matter which one you visit, you’re sure to enjoy a great round of golf.
