Spring break is just around the corner, and it’s time to start planning your trip. Oklahoma is just the place to visit whether you’re looking to relax, enjoy a romantic getaway, or indulge in lively nightlife. Many different spots in and around Broken Arrow will make your spring break one to remember. Check out some of these amazing places to plan a great spring break trip in Oklahoma this year.
Turner Falls Park
Turner Falls Park is approximately three hours from Broken Arrow and features Oklahoma’s largest waterfall. This 77-foot high waterfall is breathtaking and filled with many natural swimming holes to enjoy. The park has stocked trout in the streams along the way, so you can test your luck to see what you can catch. Take time to venture through some of the caves nearby while on your adventure. Turner Falls offers an RV park, camping sites, and cabins for your spring break lodging. If you’re an outdoor enthusiast, a weekend getaway at Turner Falls is a must.
Riversport Adventure Park
For adventurous outdoor activities, make plans to visit Riversport Adventure Park. Check out some of the water adventures available, such as the simulated whitewater rafting, tubing through the rapids, or the fast-growing sport of dragon boating. This boating venture is a cross between canoeing and paddle boating.
Another adventure awaits at the SandRidge Sky Trail. This challenging course will test all ability levels as you navigate balance beams, zigzag elements, and cross rope bridges, to name a few. You can also explore the zip line, riverboat cruise, bike course, movie on the lake, or the Big Water Grill at Riversport.
Guthrie
The town of Guthrie was once the capital of Oklahoma, and therefore is rich in history. Take a stroll through the Oklahoma Territorial Museum to learn about Land Run history and so much more. Hop on the First Capital Trolley to tour downtown Guthrie and feel free to jump off to eat and shop as you please. If you’re looking for traditional Oklahoma grub, hit up Katie’s Diner, where you can enjoy fried okra and fluffy pancakes.
Stop by Rick’s Fine Chocolates and Coffee or Hoboken Coffee Roasters when you need to rejuvenate. For a night on the town or refreshing cocktails, check out Roosters Hard Times Club. Guthrie is a two-hour drive from Broken Arrow but well worth the drive.
Tulsa
A short 20-minute jaunt from Broken Arrow is Tulsa, a city known for art, fine shopping, and live music. The BOK Center, The Brady Theatre, and Cain’s Ballroom are bound to be playing something that will get your toes tapping. Prairie Brewpub serves a beautiful cheese plate, and the Tavern has half-priced burgers after 9 p.m. You can head to Utica Square for a little luxury shopping while you’re in town. Tulsa has ample art museums as well as the Oklahoma Aquarium to meander through as well.
Oklahoma is filled with lots of must-see places, which should put it at the top of your spring break destination list. Make your plan to visit any or all of these spots while on vacation.
