With summer heating up, you’ll want to take advantage of some of Broken Arrow’s water-based activities. From public pools to natural lakes, the region offers a variety of water fun the entire family will love.

Family Aquatic Center

Conveniently located on Main Street, the Family Aquatic Center is home to a public pool, two diving boards, two large slides, a splash pad, and a wading pool for the kids. There’s even a full-service concession stand that sells drinks, hot dogs, nachos, chips, pretzels, and other favorites. Admission is just $5 for most patrons; children under two get in for free.

Nienhuis Aquatic Facility

The Nienhuis Aquatic Facility is another great public pool with plenty of extras. Enjoy two junior slides, two large flume slides, a wading pool, and a concession stand. One of the best features of this facility is its Aqua Play system, which is essentially a children’s playground set in shallow water. Like all of Broken Arrow’s public pool facilities, admission for the Nienhuis Aquatic Facility is just $5.

Country Aire Pool

Country Aire Pool is a much smaller neighborhood pool located in the Country Aire Estates subdivision between Houston Street and Kenosha Street. Despite its small size, the facility features a wading pool and a climbing wall. The site generally isn’t as crowded as the larger public pools and patrons are allowed to reserve the space for pool parties.

Safari Joe’s H2O Water Park

If you don’t mind the quick drive into Tulsa, check out Safari Joe’s H2O Water Park in Tulsa Expo Square. This seasonal attraction is well-equipped with a huge wave pool, water play areas, and high-speed slides.

Coming in at 24,000 square feet, Shark Beach Wave Pool is one of the largest of its kind in the Southwest. After bobbing in the waves, choose from three body slides that take you from just over four stories to the cool water below. Little kids will love the Tiny Turtle Lagoon with its smaller pools and activities, while teens can enjoy water basketball and rock-wall climbing in the Activity Pool.

LaFortune Park

Situated in midtown Tulsa, LaFortune Park offers 270 acres of green space, sports activities, trails, picnic tables, and playgrounds. The on-site pool features a fun slide, a diving board, a wading pool, restrooms, showers, and swim lessons, making it a great destination for Broken Arrow families. Admission to the pool is just $4 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under.

Bluff Landing

If you prefer kayaking or tubing down a river to swimming at a public pool, bring your equipment to the Bluff Landing public use area. The calm water winds through the trees and creates a calm kayaking experience that’s far removed from the hustle and bustle of Tulsa. Bluff Landing is also perfect for fishing or camping, and you’ll see plenty of wildlife during your excursion.

Cooling off near Broken Arrow has never been easier or more fun. Whether you prefer clean public pool facilities, water parks, or natural rivers, the Broken Arrow area doesn’t disappoint.
